1 1/2 pounds ground beef       2 onions, chopped
salt and pepper          5 tablespoons flour
2 cans diced tomatoes, with juice          1 (5.5) ounce tomato juice
2 cups hot water 1/2 teas. ground nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon sugar                  1 tablespoon oil

In a large skillet, cook the ground beef and onions over medium heat until beef is browned.  Drain excess fat.  Season with salt and pepper.  Add oil and gradually stir in flour until mixture thickens.  Stir in tomatoes, tomato juice and water.  Simmer on low heat to thicken.  Stir in nutmeg and sugar.  Simmer 5 minutes.  Serve over favorite toast.
